The Carttar family married into my ancestry when Charles Graham Carttar (1835-1917) became the second husband of my great-grandmother Anna-Maria Hamilton-ffinney (1835-1880), following the death of her first husband Robert Lucas Pearsall the Younger (1820-1865). They may also have had other conections with the ffinneys and Hamiltons.
